Black Girls Hike: London - Walthamstow Wetlands Wander

Walthamstow Wetlands is a 211-hectare rural landscape of rivers, marshes and farmland. As an internationally important nature reserve, it provides home and shelter to a wide range of wildlife.

General info: Toilets and cafe at start. Please keep in mind that the paths can be muddy after rainfall, so come prepared with appropriate footwear.

CAN I COME TO BLACK GIRLS HIKE?

As the name suggests, this is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women and non-binary people of Black African and / or Caribbean descent who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of Black women. We are not a BAME, POC, BIPOC, WOC, Politically Black or Ally organisation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

  • Walking boots / shoes with ankle support essential. No pumps or sliders.

  • Food and water

  • Extra layers

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Rucksack

  • Please ensure any medication is bought with you e.g., asthma pump or epi pen
