Black Girls Hike: Scotland - Edinburgh New Town Circular

Circular walk through the city centre and New Town. Along a section of the beautiful Water of Leith, taking in Dean Village, Stockbridge and Inverleith Park. Lots of the walk is along pavements, and also along river pathway (can be muddy after rain). Trainers or boots ok. Bring water and snacks/lunch for a stop, and there's the option to go for casual food together after the walk.

CAN I COME TO BLACK GIRLS HIKE?

As the name suggests, this is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women and non-binary people of Black African and / or Caribbean descent who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of Black women. We are not a BAME, POC, BIPOC, WOC, Politically Black or Ally organisation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

  • Walking boots / shoes with ankle support essential. No pumps or sliders.

  • Food and water

  • Extra layers

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Rucksack

  • Please ensure any medication is bought with you e.g., asthma pump or epi pen
