Norwegian Fjords - Kayaking, Hiking & Wild camping WEEKENDER

Join our Norwegian Fjords tour and experience some of the most stunning areas of Norway spending 3 days paddling and hiking in the UNESCO World Heritage area of the Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord. The scenic landscapes varies from wild and rugged mountain masses and glaciers that come right up out of the fjord, to verdant farmland with storybook villages.

We paddle about 25km (15.5 miles) split over day 2 and 4. Day 3 is spend Hiking up to 1189m (3900ft) altitude gain and 22km (13.7 miles) distance.

ITINERARY

Day 1 : Arrive into Bergen airport (BGO) and transfer to Voss Hostel where we will spend one night prior to the tour where we will have a group dinner together at a local restaurant.

Day 2 : We begin this trip with a scenic drive from Voss to the Sea Kayaking Centre at Gudvangen, our starting place at the Nærøyfjord.

At the Sea Kayaking Centre our guide will go through the plans for the tour before getting equipped with your personal paddle gear for the tour.  Any luggage or belongings that you will not be needing can be stored in our secure lockers at the kayak base.

We will arrive at the campsite late afternoon where we pull out our kayaks and take a well deserved rest. After setting up camp you may relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the area. In the evening we enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner before relaxing around the camp fire.

Day 3:  On the morning of Day 3 we pack our day backpacks after breakfast and begin our hike up the valley above Dyrdal. Our aim is to reach the highlands and summits above the fjords and get a spectacular view of the fjord from above. We will pass melting water lakes, snow patches and waterfalls as we make our way up towards the summits.

After reaching the top, we will enjoy great views of the fjord before we head back down to our campsite where we will spend another night with dinner and campfire .

Day 4:  After a leisurely breakfast we break up camp, pack up our kayaks and get back on the water late morning. We continue kayaking north throughout the Nærøyfjord and explore the magnificent cliff faces – hopefully we spot some seals along our way. We will also visit one of the more majestic waterfalls entering the fjord in the outer part of the Nærøyfjord and stop for lunch.

Early afternoon we arrive in Undredal, a remote village at the Aurlandsfjord, where we  pull out our kayaks . A shuttle will return us back to our base where we unload and sort out our personal items then travel back to airport.
