Yorkshire Three Peaks

Set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Three Peaks lie at the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and scientific interest. Join Black Girls Hike as we take on the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and summit the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

A detailed itinerary will be sent to all booked guests before the event, with all details needed to attend the weekend. There will also be a WhatsApp group set up prior the weekend to organise car share and get chatting.

Accommodation

We will be staying at The Old School Bunkhouse, a hostel situated near Ingleton in Yorkshire Dales limestone country, between Ingleborough and Whernside.

Packages are based on shared room accommodation, maximum occupancy 6.

How fit do I need to be?

At 24.5 miles and 1,500m of ascent this is going to be a tough walking challenge. To put it another way, you will be walking almost a marathon distance and climbing higher than Ben Nevis in under 12 hours. It’s an extremely tough and challenging day, both physically and mentally. The dropout rate can be as high as 25% which gives you an idea of how tough some people find it.

A good base level of fitness is esstential and and we highly recommend training properly for the challenge. However, it is always a good idea to consult with your doctor before engaging in any new physical activity, especially if you have any medical conditions or are recovering from an injury.

In the event of injury or fatigue, you can bail out after each peak, this requires ringing a taxi to collect you and take you back to The Old School Bunkhouse. This is funded by yourselves if this should happen and can cost up to £25, depending where abouts on the hike you are, so please remember to bring cash with you.
