About the Lowland Leader Training Course

The Lowland Leader Training course is a nationally recognised Mountain Training qualification designed for women who want to build confidence, leadership skills, and practical knowledge to lead walks in lowland countryside.

Delivered by Black Girls Hike, this course is women-only and female-led, creating a supportive, empowering space where learning is collaborative, inclusive, and rooted in community. Whether you’re a volunteer, aspiring walk leader, or simply want to strengthen your outdoor skills, this course is about growing together — not gatekeeping.

This is a two-day, practical outdoor course, blending learning, discussion, and real-world walking experience.
